Is Via Dolorosa a top 50 society?
In June 2005, nine months after the creation of Via Dolorosa, we reached into the top 10 best skilleds societies. Ever since we have been on place 8-14 in society ranking/chart. We are mighty proud of that, and even if it’s not a major goal to uphold such a place, we think it’s important to be among one of the best skilled societies in EU.

What does Via Dolorosa mean?
The name Via Dolorosa is latin for "Way of Grief, the Way of Pain or the Way of Suffering". It's a street in the Old City of Jerusalem. Traditionally, it is held to be the path that Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion. Movie. 

Via Dolorosa is not a religious society. We chose the name Via Dolorosa to emphasize the effort you have to make in Entropia Universe. The heart and soul of the society is the willingness to participate and live through the changes in the world of Entropia Universe. Life in EU as we see it, is a road full of suffering (bad loot, costly, time consuming etc.) just for the pleasure or satisfaction of progression, reaching another level, get another skill, get a HoF or maybe a ATH.

Can I become a member of Via Dolorosa?
Anyone can be a member of Via Dolorosa. However, we want you to have some experience of Entropia Universe (EU), and been playing for maybe 3 years or more. We believe you have decent gears for hunting and skills accordingly to your experience, since we are primarily a skill based hunting society.

You have mature personality and are self supported, have a good reputation, and that you play by the rules of EU. You are expected to always be fair and trustworthy both to Via Dolorosa members and other players. We never accept applications by the society terminal without any contact. When we accepted you as a member you are told to apply by the society terminal. If you want to become a member, contact us with some information about your selfe and your avatar. Does Via Dolorosa have other sections of the society similar to cadet societies?
We have three sections of the society. The main Via Dolorosa society (ViaD). A society for former members of society, called Via Dolorosa Retirement Resort - ViaD (rr). Finally we have a Travel Agency where our pilot are society leader. We have no cadet society, "elite" or  "noob" sections of the society. We have no plans to introduce such society right now.

How active are the members of Via Dolorosa?
As things are in most societies, some are more active then others. In general all our members are active. Activity, but also commitment, is two of the most important factors to remain as a member of Via Dolorosa. If you fall into inactivity you will be expelled from society, but only after all members discussed the matter and you been informed about what action we are about to take. Most times the inactive member leave society by choise and are accepted into ViaD (rr). Any member who has been a member of Via Dolorosa has the right to return to society if you still fulfil our criteria for membership.

What society ranks does Via Dolorosa use?
We have two kinds of ranks. Society Leader and Professional. Occasionally and for practical purposes we sometimes have Leader Advisors.

If I become a member, do I need to go trough a trial period?
No, when you are accepted into the society you will get the society ranking as Professional and are equal to all other members. We don’t use trial periods. If there is any reason for the society to expel you from society short after you joined, it will be dealt with as any other matter within the society.

Who make decisions in Via Dolorosa?
All members have the opportunity to express their opinion, and it's always respected as long it's not hostile and prejudice to members or others. Racist or humiliating opinions towards members or others are not accepted. We use our forum for communication and debate. Decisions are often made by discussions where we try to find a solution that all members can accept. Sometimes we have polls, where the outcome of the poll will be the society's decisions. Accepting new members has to be unanimous.

When I'm a member of Via Dolorosa, do I have to take part in events etc.?
We participate together in Entropia Universe to have fun and enjoy each others company. At the same time we are individuals with goals of our own. There will always be a social aspect but there are no obligations to participate in any event or contribute in any form.
Sometimes we have society hunts. It's often spontaneous and it's up to each member to take part or not. It happends that we invite friends to our hunts.

Do Via Dolorosa members meet in real life?
Yes, at least once a year we try to gather the members (and their families) for a couple of days of LAN.

Does Via Dolorosa have any common property?
Yes, we have a hangar that some of the members of Via Dolorosa own. We consider it as Via Dolorosa property and can be used by all members to travel to CP and CND for TT cost.

Do you borrow things from each other in society?
It happens, but it's all up to the individual member to decide if he/she wants to lend anything to another member. Via Dolorosa as a society doesn't have a policy on the matter.

Do I have to sell items/objects to a lower price to society members if I want to sell some of what I have?
Not at all! It's up to the seller to choose to whom he/she wants to sell and to what price. No obligation to sell to society members. No obligation to sell items for a lower price then normal.

Does Via Dolorosa participate in Land Grab?
Via Dolorosa doesn't take part in Land Grab. When Land Grab are announced, we decide if we going to take part as a society. So far we decided not to take part. However, if any member of Via Dolorosa wants to take part, they can support any society of their choice.

How does a Via Dolorosa member act in PvP areas?
PvP areas are PvP areas and it’s up the individual member to act accordingly to our “friendly” setting in the society terminal. During Land Grab the individual member who take part in LG don’t need to considerate our “friendly” settings in society terminal. The same rules are valid when a member practices inside the ring. Inside the ring our "friendly" policy is not valid.

Is it allowed to chip skills?
Via Dolorosa has no rule about that. You do as you wish. However, it’s a common opinion among the members that you don’t sell out skills. We understand if you sell skills to invest in new skills. Selling out skills without investing in new skills will affect our society. It could be a reason for getting expelled from society.

Does the members use any form of voice communication when playing?
It’s up the individual member to arrange such communication with other members. Via Dolorosa has no policy that members have to use a voice communication program when playing.

What languages are used in society chat?
Default is English, but if there are only Swedes in society chat, Swedish are used. However, it’s up to each member to use a language appropriate to who are online at the time.

I’m new to EU and looking for a mentor. Can a member of Via Dolorosa be my mentor?
It’s up the individual member to accept disciples. Via Dolorosa takes no collectively responsibility for training or helping disciples or newcommers.

Via Dolorosa has been an Entropia Universe society since the 15th of October 2004. If you become a member of Via Dolorosa, you will be part of a well respected and trustworthy society.

We all know that people come and go in Entropia Universe. Some quit, some take a break, and some just aren’t active enough during a period of time. We want to present our members of the past.

All of them have been important members of Via Dolorosa. I would say, without them, Via Dolorosa won’t be the society we are today. They have played an important part of our struggle to be a respectable and well known society inside Entropia Universe. We want to present the names of those that have been part of our society, but for different reasons don’t belong to us any more. Some of them are still active.
